Vicinity Holiday Gift Guide – The West Coast Edition

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and you know what that means right? It’s time to start planning! Get your tree up, plan your Christmas dinner, attempt to put your Christmas lights up… and start shopping for presents, of course!

We’ll be putting together a curated list of goodies you can find at your local Vicinity merchants, which means you’ll be getting rewarded for giving gifts. So don’t be a Scrooge this year and be generous because after all, it is the spirit of the season.

Vancouverites, here’s where you should do your shopping:

One of our favourite things to gift someone is a good meal, to take ‘em out and make a date out of it. Spending quality time over a few good dishes is often the best way to spend time with a family member or friend you don’t get to see very often. Restaurants and cafes that accept Vicinity in and around Vancouver include: La Belle Patate, Jazen Tea, Pho Hoa Noodle Soup, Chasers Juice Bar, Bay Sushi Café, and City Blends Coffee House.

If there is someone in your life who enjoys collecting rare items or comics then you must check out Ebenezer’s in Vernon, BC! You can find thousands of old movies, books, comics and vintage video games that are bound to make someone very happy.

At least one of your friends or family members will enjoy a round or two of golf, especially as the weather eventually becomes nicer. Mylora Golf Course is only a short drive from downtown Vancouver in Richmond and you’re able to book in advance.

Know any vapers? There’s quite a few shops that sell e-cigarettes, vaporizers, hookahs and shishas in and around the city. Check out Ignite Smoke Shop or Haze Smoke Shop in Vancouver, and if you’re in Richmond, there’s Lucky 8 Vapes.

Calgarians, we haven’t forgotten about you:

If you’re thinking of taking a loved one out to dinner or a quick date, then you should check out these Vicinity-enabled restaurants and cafes: Shiraz Persian Cuisine, Involtini Ristorante, Empire Cafe and Hookah Lounge, Matador Pizza and Steak House, Pita Basket Cafe, and a few others.

We’ve also got a comic book shop in the city, Phoenix Comics NW that you need to check out if you know anyone who enjoys collecting comics or other geeky memorabilia.

Or you might know someone (your mom, wife, girlfriend or sister) who deserves a little pampering, which makes a gift certificate to Merle Norman Cosmetics and Day Spa South Centre in Calgary the ideal gift.

Vaping is popular across the country, and if you know anyone who’s into the newest trend, there’s Hot Shots Vapor and Vapexcape in Calgary.

And don’t forget that Believe Fit also carries plenty of workout gear which is perfect for anyone in your life who’s going to add “going to the gym” to their New Year’s resolutions! There’s plenty of locations in Alberta, so worry less if you’re not headed into Calgary anytime soon.

We’ve given you quite a few gift ideas, and we’re confident that your family and friends will love to get any of them under the tree. Happy shopping!
