What better way to celebrate the summer and shopping local than by throwing a huge party? Over the past couple of months we’ve hosted Vicinity Day events for our merchant communities in Brampton and Guelph.
Vicinity Day is a great time to get out into the community and discover all of the great local shops that are in and around the area.
Vicinity Day started in April as a celebration for Kingston, ON and its focus was to bring the community together around our great variety of small and medium businesses. Not only did we reward them for shopping local, but for using their Vicinity card as well!
On June 20th we celebrated the fantastic community of Guelph with our local merchants.Signups and transactions increased during that day as well! For an added bonus, with every merchant transaction, Vicinity members were entered into a draw to win either an iPad, TFC or Blue Jays tickets.
Ditto goes for Brampton too, which is where we were last weekend. Brampton is home to a ton of merchants using Vicinity and it was a natural match to get consumers out in the community and trying different merchants in the area. In total, we had 35 merchants participating, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day to host an event! Transactions and signups increased over the previous weekend and oh, it was awesome to come and meet some of our merchants face to face!
We love the response on social as well. It’s fantastic to see merchants and customers alike pick up on the #VicinityDay hashtag and use it to support their favourite stores or to show off their rewards for being a loyal customer.
