Everybody has one (or in some cases many) – that beloved local business that becomes your go-to spot for your favourite eats, products, services or staff. Over time – it becomes ‘your place’, your neighbourhood secret spot that truthfully, you’re proud to share with the world. Vicinity is paying homage to the thousands of local businesses in Canada with the “Loved in Your Hood” contest full of prizes for you and your favourite ‘spot’.
We’re kicking off “Loved in Your Hood” with a search for your favourite local burger restaurant. Whether you prefer chicken, beef or veggie, almost all of us can agree – burgers are awesome. Now, we want to reward you for your burger love!
Starting March 18, visit our Facebook page to nominate your favourite local burger restaurant and tell us why you think it’s the best for a chance to win $500. Easy, right?
You can nominate any local burger restaurant in your neighbourhood. A Vicinity panel will judge the entries based on three criteria: customer service, quality of product and community involvement. The winning burger restaurant will win the title of “Loved in Your Hood” and $500. The winning submissions will be entered for a chance to be awarded with $500 too!
Just for making a nomination you will also be entered into a random draw for $50. The contest closes April 26th, so what are you waiting for?
Need to do some research? We don’t blame you. Here are some great burger restaurants to sample:
Burger Boy – Red Deer, AB
Nelly’s Grill – Vancouver, BC
Jackson’s Burger – Toronto, ON
Whether it’s the freshly baked buns, the crew that knows you by name or the juicy local beef, we want to reward your burger love!

Hero burger is the best.
Juicy lucy . I love it
Mamo Burger! Windsor Ontario’s best burgers!
i like the burgers at Turtle Jacks
You cannot beat Baldwin St Burger. Its a 20m drive for me, but totally worth it.
I’d love to take part in this, but refuse to have anything to do with FB (“F” FB).
Anyhow, whether I’m entered or not, everyone should check out South Street Burger in Burlington, Ontario (I think there’s a few around). I love their spicy ketchup and horseradish mayo… mmm.
I’m lucky enough to have one up the street from me!
Oh, and they serve New York Fries…
Hi Kevin, you can still enter without going on Facebook. Use the widget on our post. Facebook is just for additional entries :). Good luck!
Urban Burgers- Brampton , ONT

The Bison burgers are best, but my favorite is Greek burger with bison patty.
But best of all they cook on indoor wood burning bbq…… I’m going right new for a burger I’m craving one just talking about it
Sounds delicious! Be sure to nominate them here: http://gvwy.io/9120r59
Woody’s is a must try. I’m no longer in the neighbourhood, but still make the drive for a fix. Hardwood grilled burgers with fresh toppings – and the fresh-cut sweet potato fries are perfectly salted for a heart-warming savor that’ll bring you back to momma’s belly.
Try the turkey burger with garlic mayo, grainy Dijon, tomato, lettuce and coleslaw – simple enough but hands-down, THE best turkey burger I’ve had anywhere. I’m juicing just thinking about it.
