Spread the word about your Vicinity rewards program and WIN!

People get information from a multitude of sources. Which is why it makes sense to use every means at your disposal to tell your customers about your Vicinity rewards program. Posters, point-of-sale signage, word of mouth, the web – all these communications vehicles can help you spread the word.

The marketing materials we provided with your Vicinity Starter Kit are there to help you get started. Beyond that, there are other creative ways to increase awareness about your rewards program:

  • Add a “call to action” button to your website. This is a visual with text that, when clicked, links to http://www.vicinityrewards.ca/accounts/register/. The call to action is text written to encourage customers to sign up. We’ve created a couple different types of buttons for you to use; to download them click on them below:

Even better, right now you can enter to win $500 for adding a Vicinity rewards button to your website by April 1, 2015.

How? Just place a Vicinity rewards button on your website before the April 1 deadline, either tweet the link or post it on Facebook, and tag Vicinity. We’ll draw a winner on April 2, 2015 and award one lucky merchant with $500. Get the rule details here.

  • Add the Vicinity logo to your promotional material. As a Vicinity merchant, you’re free to use our logo on ads, brochures, posters, email newsletters – anything you use to promote your business. This will help expose your store or brand to Vicinity cardholders who might not know you are a Vicinity merchant. Our logo comes in a white or a black version; download high-res versions of both logos here.
  • Tell people about the Vicinity app. It’s free, available for download for both Android and iOS, and makes it easy to find nearby Vicinity merchants with search and maps functionality. Users can also check their points balance and rewards while on the go.
  • Talk about us on social media. Tag Vicinity on your shop’s Facebook and Twitter accounts – we’ll retweet and “like” nearly every Twitter mention and Facebook post, helping expose your business to our own followers (and their followers, and so on…).
  • Create a promotional landing page. This is a special page on your website that explains your program so customers understand how it works. (Check out The Clarkson Pump’s Rewards landing page for reference.) The copy on the page should spell out how you reward customers in a welcoming, helpful tone.

Thanks for shopping with us! When you sign up for our Vicinity loyalty program you’ll be rewarded for your continued patronage, every time you visit. Use your Vicinity card to earn “points” whenever you shop at any of our locations. Here’s how it works:

  • For every $X you spend you earn X points, which can be saved and exchanged for rebates, discounts, and even free products. It’s that simple.

All we need is your phone number and a name (or nickname) to sign you up. Rest assured – nobody from our store or from Vicinity will call you. We only use the phone number as a unique identifier for your personal account and to send you special promotions from time to time (just text ‘OFF’ to opt out of our text promotions). If you happen to lose your Vicinity card, just tell the team member your phone number when you cash out and you’ll still get your points.

You can also choose to provide an email when you sign up. This allows you to receive e-mail notifications about special promotions – a feature that can be disabled at any time. And, if you provide the day and month (but not year) of your birthday it can trigger surprise bonuses at different Vicinity merchants.

Once you have a card, you’ll be able to log into the Vicinity website (www.vicinityrewards.ca) and see a map of all the local businesses that offer a loyalty program with Vicinity, as well as how to earn and spend your points.

Below is a list of the rewards we are presently offering. This is a dynamic list, so check back often to see what we’ve added! (Add your list of rewards.)
