Bonus Points 101

So you recently went into your favourite local business and noticed they’re part of the Vicinity network – sweet! You sign up for a Vicinity rewards card and make your first purchase, just look at those points being added on to your account in no time at all! But hold on a second: besides the points you get from every purchase you make, Vicinity offers you FREE bonus points!

How does that work exactly? It’s really simple: every new Vicinity Rewards cardholder receives 3 bonus points that can be applied to any active Vicinity Merchant. You can also link your Facebook account to Vicinity and get an extra 2 points for a total of 5 bonus points.

Here’s what you need to do to claim your bonus points: log on to www.vicinityrewards.ca, where you’ll see how many bonus points you have to claim, then click on the Vicinity map where it will show you which businesses in your area you can redeem your bonus points at. Please note that you can only claim one point per business and once you’ve claimed it, there’s no going back!

Since they’re a Vicinity merchant you can use one of your bonus points and you’re one step closer to earning a reward there. Who knows, maybe the food is amazing and you’ll be a lifelong customer! We just want to give you a head start on earning points at various Vicinity-enabled businesses!

Remember, you can only claim a bonus point from a business ONCE, and there’s no way of changing your choice so be careful when you’re choosing! Visit www.vicinityrewards.ca/locations to find Vicinity businesses near you.

    Hello,

I joined Vicinity a few months ago thinking it was a point system for one specific business and accidentally redeemed one of my bonus points for that location thinking it was a limited time offer deal. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience there and have not gone back and was wondering if it would be possible to be able to return that 1 bonus point to my account? I would appreciate it very much.

    Thank you,

    Krystal Wong

      Hi Krystal,

As it turns out, we are unable to reassign bonus points. We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Hopefully you can use your other 2 bonus points towards a more rewarding time.

      Thanks for understanding!
      The Vicinity Team

    Hi Vicinity,

I added my bonus point to Chatime (in Vancouver), but when I opened it up in my app, it shows up as the Chatime in Calgary. I don’t even live in Calgary! There’s no way I can switch it to the Vancouver location??

    Thanks,

    Jocelyn

I spend $50 at a store that uses your points 3 days ago, and even though they scanned my card and everything, I still have not received my points. Is there any way to get them?

    Thanks.

Hi Rosemary, please connect with the merchant directly as we are not able to assign points on their behalf. Let us know if you have any questions.

About the point, do we have to tap the card before we order or we can do it after?
